Raymond L. Woodhurs
Sabula, Iowa

Raymond L. Woodhurst, 54, of Sabula died Monday, Nov. 13, 1989, at Samaritan North Hospital, Clinton, following a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Delmar. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Sabula.

Mr. Woodhurst owned and operated Woody's Fish Market, Tavern and Restaurant in Sabula for 15 years. He was a commercial fisherman for 30 years.

He was born on Jan. 24, 1935, in Clinton, son of Ralph and Edna (Comstock) Woodhurst.

Surviving are four sons, Steve, Jerry and Sheldon Woodhurst, all of Sabula, and Lee Woodhurst of Camanche; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Ann) Haas of Maussbach, Ill., Mrs. Lester (Ella) Rittmer and Judy Weets, both of Sabula, and Mrs. Bob (Kay) Gehl of Clinton; two brothers, Bill Woodhurst of Erie, Ill., and Ed Woodhurst of Clinton; and Barbara Huling, his caretaker with whom he lived.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and his parents, Ralph and Edna Woodhurst.
