Mrs. James Holleran

Clinton Daily Advertiser Friday January 15, 1915 p. 6 Mrs. James Holleran, aged 70, a well known and respected resident of this city, passed away at Mercy hospital at 10:45 last night. Mrs. Holleran has been ill for a number of years, suffering a great deal from asthma. She has been up and around until the last couple of weeks. Last Saturday she was taken to Mercy hospital where sh underwent an operation on Tuesday of this week. She seemed to be getting along as well as could be expected, but the operation was a very serious one and she was unable to withstand the effects and passed away as above stated. Mrs. Holleran was born February 14th, 1845 in St. Thomas, Canada. She was united in marriage to James Holleran the twentieth of May, 1865, and was looking forward to celebrating her golden wedding anniversary this coming May. The news of the death of Mrs. Holleran will be received with regret by many warm friends. She was always of a jovial disposition, was a good neighbor and a kind an loving wife and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Holleran lived in Fulton for many years and were in charge of the Holleran House in that city. Upon retiring from the hotel business they moved to Lyons, where they have made their home ever since. She is survived by her husband and four children; Mrs. William Murdoch, F.L. Holleran of this city, mrs. Bruce Corliss of Eagle Grove and mrs. C.L. Prentice of this city; one sister Mrs. John Holleran of Fulton, and one brother, Garret O'Connor also of Fulton. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock fomr the Murdoch home on South Sixth street to St. Irenaeus church and thence to Calvary cemetery. Friends are kindly requested to omit flowers.
