The Clinton Herald; Friday Janaury 15, 1915 p. 8 The community was shocked this morning to learn of the news of the death of Mrs. James S. Holleran, which occurred at 10:45 o'clock Thursday evening at Mercy hospital, where she underwent an operation Tuesday. Her death was entirely unexpected as she had previously undergone two minor operations, and hopes for her recovery from the third were the highest. She failed rapidly after the operation and passed away at the above stated hour. Mrs. Holleran was prominently known both in this city and in Fulton, Ill., whre for years with her husband they had conducted the well known hotel known as the Holleran House. About twenty four years ago they removed to this city and have since resided in South Sixth street. Delia O'Connor was born in St. Thomas, Canada, February 14, 1845, later removed to Fulton, Ill., with her parents where on May 28, 1865 she was united in marriage to James S. Holleran of that city. Had she lived until May 1915, Mr. and Mrs. Holleran would have appropriately observed their golden wedding anniversary, plans for which had alread been made. The deceased was seventy years of age, she was a faithful wife, a devoted and fone mother, always thinking of the welfare and success of her children. She was a member of St Irenaeus Catholic church. The survivors are her husband, J.S. Holleran , and the following children, Mrs. W.F. Murdoch, Mrs. C.L. Prentiss and Attorney F.L. Holleran of this city and Mrs. Bruce Corliss of Eagle Grove, also one brother Garret O'Connor and one sister, Mrs. John Holleran of Fulton, Ill. The funeral will be held from the W.F. Murdoch home 712 South Sixth street, at 8:40 o'clock Saturday morning with services at St. Irenaeus church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends will kindly omit flowers.
