The Clinton Herald Saturday November 11, 1967 p. 13 John H. Kearney, 82, of the Colonial Manor nursing home in Davenport, formerly of DeWitt, died this morning at the nursing home. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Halligan McCabe funeral home in Davenport.
The Clinton Herald Monday November 13, 1967 p. 18 John H. Kearney, 82, DeWitt native, died Saturday in the Colonial nursing home, Davenport. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Apostle Catholic church with burial in St. Joseph's cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Mr. Kearney was born in DeWitt. He married Elizabeth Sullivan in 1909 in Petersville. He retired from Farmall Works in 1952. Mr. Kearney is survived by his wife; daughters Mrs. Mary Hauer, Mrs. Harold Ruge, and Mrs. Jerry McGivern all of Davenport; sons John W. Davenport, Paul E. Minneapolis, Minn., and Harold J. Milwaukee, Wis.; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
