January 29, 1922 - May 16, 2006
DWAYNE PRUIS, 84, of 303 E. South Street, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.
Dwayne was born in Whiteside County, IL to Bernie and Cora (Tiesenga) Pruis. He was educated in the Morrison Grade School and attended Morrison High School. He married Kathryn J. Foster on September 4, 1946 in Morrison. Dwayne worked for several years at the Carnation Milk Factory in Morrison, and then engaged in farming in the rural Morrison, Albany and Garden Plain areas until retiring in 1989. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and had served as an elder and deacon for several years. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Tucker of Fenton, IL and Joan (Mrs. Gordon) Vos of Mt. Carroll, IL; one son, Roger Pruis of Morrison, IL; nine grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole) Tucker, Monica (Adam) Wainwright, Karl (Chris) Tucker, Kurt Tucker, Charlotte Vos, Sara (Terry) Foust, Amber (Kurt) Bush, Timothy (Chris) Pruis, Angela (Shane) Adams; seven great grandchildren, Taylor and Grace Wainwright, Madison, Logan and Isabella Tucker, Austin and Blake Adams; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Foster and Della (Mrs. Clarence) Johnson both of Morrison, IL; two brothers, Arthur (Betty) Pruis and Menno Pruis, both of Morrison, IL.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jay and Fred Pruis; a son-in-law, William Tucker
Funeral Information
FUNERAL SERVICE WHEN AND WHERE: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2006 at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL. The service is preceded by a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service at the church
OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Jon W. Nienhuis, Pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church
VISITATION: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery – Morrison, IL
