Janet L. Kraus age 75 of Burnsville, MN, formerly of Clinton, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. Saturday, June 14th at the Pape Funeral Home. Services will begin at 6:00 P.M. Graveside Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday in Oakland Cemetery.

Janet was born October 19, 1938 in Clinton, Iowa to W. Stewart and Lois Kraus. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1956 and received her BA in business from the University of Chicago in 1968. She retired from SuperValu Inc. Janet loved dogs. She believed strongly in adopting rescue dogs, and was very proud of the fact that she trained her dog, Glorie Mae, as a therapy dog. She enjoyed crocheting and was active in the organization “Warm Up America” which crochets afghans for veterans. She loved to fish and enjoyed spending time at Spider Lake, MN, which she called her paradise on earth. She enjoyed going to auctions in that never ending search for the next treasure.

Memorials can be made to the Clinton Fire Department to be used in their Pet Rescue program or the Clinton Humane Society or the charity of your choice. Survivors include a first cousin, Debra (Duane) Wiese and their family, Steven Wiese and Danielle (Justin) Sampson and children, all of Camanche, and close friends who were like family including Alan and Denise Lyng of Duluth, MN, Greg Cole Sr and his son, Greg Jr, Cindy Hildenbrand, and Angie Malloy of Burnsville, Connie Carsrud, Danny Burkhalter, and Clinton Earls.
