The Clinton Herald August 1974 Mrs. J.R. Logan, 69, Des Moines, a Clinton native, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday in a Des Moines hospital following surgery. The funeral and burial will be Friday in Des Moines. Mrs. Logan, the former Bernice Murphy, daughter of Joseph and Minnie Murphy, was born in Clinton. She married J.R. Logan in 1930. They had lived in Des Moines about 40 years. Mrs. Logan is survived by her husband, one son, James R. Logan, Morristown, N.J.; one daughter, Mrs. Julia Howe, Orange, N.J.; a brother, Paul Murphy, Moline and two sisters, Alice and Ruth Murphy, Colorado Springs, Colo.
