Clinton Daily Herald Wednesday October 20, 1909 p. 8 At his home on South Fifth street at 9:30 this morning occurred the death of John Lynch, an aged resident of Lyons. Death was due to the complications of old age. Mr. Lynch having been an invalid for many months. Born in County Roscommon, Ireland over 81 years ago, the deceased came to American when a boy, and for many years resided on a farm west of town, for over twenty-five years he made this city his home, respected and esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his loss, three sons and two daughters; John, Thomas and Frank at home; Mrs. Lucy Carpenter of Wisconsin, and Mrs. Mitchell of Nebraska. He leaves also a brother, Thomas of Cooper, Ia., and a sister, Mrs. James Murphy of Lyons. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
