The Clinton Herald; Monday August 3, 1942 p. 6 DeWitt Mrs. Margaret Carey died about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Mercy hospital Davenport, where she had been a patient for several days after falling and breaking a hip. The body reposes in the Fitzpatrick funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic church with the Rev. John Moriarty officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. Margaret Verstreet, daughter of August and Ann Verstreet, was born Feb. 14, 1869 in Scott county. She was married to Dan Carey April 17, 1912 in St. Joseph's church here. He died June 10, 1933. Surviving are two sisters, Tessie and Nellie Verstreet, at home, also six nieces and two nephews.
