The Clinton Herald Tuesday September 17, 1963 p. 10 Mrs. Thomas V. Murphy, 77, of 214 7th Aven. N., died in Mercy Hospital this morning. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the Snyder funeral home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. The Rev. Harold Putney of the First Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Ethel H. Henry Murphy was born Dec. 17, 1885 in Lowden, the daughter of N.D. and Elizabeth Henry. She married Thomas Murphy Jan. 24, 1934 in Clinton. A member of the First Congregational Church, she was employed as a reporter for local and area newspapers for many years and was formerly a writer for radio station KROS. She was a past officer and life member of the Clinton Business and Professional Women's Club. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. George C. Salzer of Clinton; several neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.

Burial was in Springdale cemetery. Mrs. Viola Snyder was the organist.
Pallbearers were Harold Fink, John Kucera, Wendell Johnson, Roland Henry, Robert Leonard and Patrick Leonard.
