Henry L. Merrill age 76 of Clinton passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday. Cremation rites will follow with a private burial, Thursday, at Springdale Cemetery.

Henry was born in Wadena, MN on December 27, 1937, the son of Henry and Lulu (Soper) Merrill. He married Coyla Wacker on January 11, 1959 in Maquoketa. Coyla passed away on May 18, 2010. He married Kay Maynard on April 20, 2013 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. Henry had been employed with Clinton Engines, Clinton Corn Processing Company/ADM, Pekin Energy, Pekin, IL and at Hawkeye Chemical. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Henry is survived by his wife Kay; two daughters, Coral (Rod) Decker of Albany, Vicki (Keith) Norman of Fulton; a son, Dean (Brenda) Merrill of Clinton; 11 grandchildren, Nathan, Kelvin, Brandon, Sarah, Erica, Rhea, Karley, Sam, Sydney, Sadie and Sara; seven great grandchildren, Carter, Jasmine, Kesi, Ariah, Keagan, Maren and Cael; his wife Kay’s family; her two daughters, two sons, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Henry is also survived by his sister, Betty Oudekerk of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and one sister. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
