Robert J. Dietrick, 73, of Camanche, Iowa passed away on December 27, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Honoring Robert's wishes cremation rites have been accorded with no services. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert was born July 19, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Wilbert and Dorothy (Conover) Dietrick. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Robert served his Country, enlisting in the United States Navy in 1957.
He worked as a Production Supervisor at Collis Inc. facility in Clinton were he retired.
Robert loved to go fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards with his true passion focused on coin collecting. He enjoyed spending time with his best friend Hod and loved his family very much.
Robert is survived by eight daughters - Bobbi Hehlke of Clinton, IA., Robin (Al) Stahl of Clinton, IA., Julie Meadows of Clinton, IA., Wendy Merkel of Bettendorf, IA., Lisa (Jason) Willey of Eldridge, IA., Lisa (Todd) Determan of Clinton, IA., Jodi (Garrett Totten) Dietrick of Clinton, IA., Kori (Matthew Cudney) Dietrick of Camanche, IA., many grandchildren; five sisters - Arlene (Ted) Pawlik, Judy Edfors, Carol (Don) Hyde, Sandra Peterson and Monica Dietrick; one brother - Mike (Carol) Dietrick with many nieces and nephews and his special friend Harold "Hod" Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and dear family friend Tom McKinnon and one grandson - Tommy Chance Determan.
