Mr. Glenn F. Paarmann, 82, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Friday morning, November 15, 2013 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Glenn Frederick Paarmann was born September 21, 1931, at rural DeWitt, Iowa, to Malvern and Aulda (Block) Paarmann. He graduated from Elvira High School. Following graduation, Glenn began farming with his family. On January 18, 1953, Glenn was united in marriage to Bonnie Mae Clement at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. The couple farmed together at rural DeWitt for many years. Bonnie preceded Glenn in death on May 1, 2000. He later married Mary Jo Bragg who also preceded him in death.

He was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, was a charter member and past president of the Low Moor Lions Club and former member of the Clinton County Cattleman's Association. Glenn later became a member of the DeWitt Nite Lions. He was lifelong Cardinals fan. Glenn enjoyed antiquing, collecting depression glass and John Deere Toys models of tractors he owned. He enjoyed going to family activities.

Surviving are his children, Cynthia (Joe) Garcia of Sturgeon, Missouri, David (Tracy) Paarmann and Mark Paarmann of DeWitt, and Coleen (Todd) Hughes of Grand Mound; grandchildren, Jonah Paarmann, Christopher (Tiffany) Postell, Michael Postell and Nathan Postell; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Kourtney, Kylee and Ashlynne; a brother, Wayne (Ann) Paarmann of DeWitt.

Preceding Glenn in death in addition to Bonnie and Mary Jo were his parents, a brother, Kenneth and a sister, Carol Heiney.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Ron Rafferty will officiate. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church, Grace Camp or the American Diabetes Association.
