Jerome Dennis Fairchild, 63, of Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at CGH Medical Center – Sterling, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be 12:00pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory with his step-father Pastor McKinely Lee, Sr., officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Anderson Jackson, Michael Tyler, Phillip Broughton, Vernon Armstrong, Willie Hughes, and Edward Williams. Jerome Dennis Fairchild was born on August 14, 1949 in Lewisville, Mississippi, the son of Joseph and Esther (Brown) Fairchild. He was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Chicago. He also graduated from DeVrey Institute and attended Clinton Community College.

He was employed with Plasco in Bensonville, Illinois as an executive at the age of 19. He was also employed with DuPont and taught art at Clinton Community College.

He is survived by his daughter: Antionette Nicks of Chicago, a grandson: Tyler Ramsey of Chicago; his siblings: Ruthie Dell Fairhchild of Rockford, Illinois, Joseph (Marcelene) Robinson of St. Louis, Missouri, Willie (Julia) Hughes of Clinton, Annette Jones of Joliet, and McKinley (Roshelle) Lee, Jr., of Fresno, California; his uncle: Arvie (Florence) Fairchild of Chicago, and a special nephew: Edward Jerome Williams of Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
