Betty L. Claussen, 83, of Clinton, died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Schlutz, Robert Dawson, Jason, Dawson, Adam Claussen, Andy Stowers, Nathan Smith. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00pm at the funeral home.

Betty Lou Herrity was born on January 3, 1925 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Audrey (Sears) Herrity. She married Elmer W. Clauseen on December 22, 1943 in Missouri; he later died June 29, 1998.

She attended St. Mary's High School. She was employed with the Clinton Garment Factory.

She is survived by three sons: William (Cindy) Claussen of Chenoa, Illinois, Gary (Linda) Claussen of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Thomas (Sue) Clausen of Clinton, Iowa; three daughters: Leita (Michael) Schultz of Clinton, Iowa, Janet (Bruce) Johnson of Clinton, Iowa, and Barbara (Tim) Manikowski of Clinton, Iowa; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; one infant daughter, and one brother.
