Judy (Mrs. Don) Paulsen, 75, of Charlotte, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013 at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland, Iowa.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in Faith Lutheran Church, Calamus, with the Reverend Sarah E. Kretzmann officiating. Burial will be at Rossiter Cemetery, Charlotte.

Judy was born Judith Ann Horst, September 6, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa, a daughter born to Albertus Henry and Elsie Marie (Johannsen) Horst. Judy graduated from Miles High School in 1955. On June 22, 1969, she was united in marriage to Donald Paulsen at the Miles Presbyterian Church. The couple farmed and raised their family at rural Charlotte. Don preceded Judy in death on January 4, 2005.

She enjoyed having coffee with her friends, playing cards and anything she could do for her family.

Surviving are children and their spouses, Deb and Brian Tulley of Calamus, Iowa, Angie and Ryan Owen of Maquoketa, Iowa, Cathy and Josh Bowles of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Nancy and Chris Foxen of Muscatine, Iowa; grandchildren, Beth, Anne and Sarah Tulley, Winston, Henry and Simon Bowles and Quinn Foxen; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Louise Horst of Miles; a sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Cecil Simons of Bellevue, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Pat Horst of Miles; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Judy in death in addition to her husband, were her parents; a brother, Bob and a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Walter Jensen.
