Mardonna (Mrs. Marvin) Richeal, 80, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday morning, April 29, 2013, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Courageous or your charity of choice.

Pallbearers will be Cody Richeal, Ryan Marik, Amanda Richeal, Kyla Glentz, Ryan Mack and K.J. Glentz.

Mrs. Richeal, the former Mardonna Joan Dalchow was born April 15, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Dr. Marvin and Viola (Tinnefeld) Dalchow. Mardonna graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1950 and was a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Dental Hygiene in 1952. On August 10, 1952, she was united in marriage to Dr. Marvin Richeal at First Lutheran Church, Maquoketa. The following 2 1/2 years were spent at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, while Marvin was serving our country as an Air Force Dentist. Following service, the couple settled in Maquoketa, where Marvin practiced dentistry with Mardonna's father and raised their family. 22 years later, they moved to DeWitt to open their own dental office. Mardonna worked as Marvin's dental hygienist after raising the family. They retired in December of 1999.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. Mardonna often sang solo parts in the annual Messiah performance with the Koinonia Society of which she was a member. She performed with the Peace Pipe Players in musical productions. Mardonna was an avid golfer, belonging to Springbrook Country Club for many years. She held a private pilot's license which she and Marvin obtained after they were married. Mardonna loved to fly so much that when Marvin was golfing on Men's Day, she would take the children flying. Traveling was a real passion for Mardonna not only with her family in early years but with Marvin, where they traveled nationally and internationally extensively. She lived life to the fullest to the very end and above all was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Surviving are her loving husband of 60 years, Marvin; children, Marvin "Mitch" (Deb) Richeal of Troy, Montana, Kevin (Lisa) Richeal of LeClaire, Iowa, Kathryn (Craig) Mack of Moline, Illinois, and Sharon Glentz of Westminster, Colorado; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Christine (Dave) Owen of Solon, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mardonna in death were her parents and a brother, Ronald.
