Zayla Slama, 20 month old daughter of Angela Slama and Taylor Maynard of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, April 1, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Funeral Home.

She was born July 26, 2011, in Davenport, Iowa. Zayla was baptized on Christmas Day, December 25, 2011, at Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge. She loved kitties and puppies especially Emma Kay and Buckwheat. Zayla also loved dancing, many types of music, spending time with her cousins and black olives.

She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her parents, Angie and Taylor; grandparents, Cynthia Slama of Davenport, Iowa and John and Mandy Maynard of DeWitt; great-grandparents, Jack and Donna Maynard of DeWitt and Ken and Nancy Knapper of Grand Mound, Iowa; aunts and uncles, Jared Bolinsky, Whitney (Scott) Kinrade, and Wyatt Knapper; cousins, Austin, Adrianne and Peyton Kinrade. Zayla was dearly loved by numerous extended family.

Preceding Zayla in death were her great-grandparents, Kay and John Slama.
