Thomas R. Rich, 86, of Camanche, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center – North Campus, Clinton.

Memorial Services will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church - Camanche with Dr. Donald Batz officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. The family will greet friends from 12:30pm to the service time at the church. Thomas Randolph Rich was born on March 23, 1926 in Sterling, Illinois, the son of Maurice and Virginia (Sublett) Rich. He was a 1944 graduate of Clinton High School. He then attended Iowa State College for two years before enlisting in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged.

Tom married Mary Foltz in January 1965 in Rock Island; she died in 1988. He later married Barbara Parker on July 17, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tom was a bartender at the Frontier Motor Inn retiring after over 40 years. He was a member of the Fulton Country Club, the Clinton AMVETS, and attended St. Marks United Methodist Church with his wife. He enjoyed playing cards, golf, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Tom is survived by his wife: Barbara of Camanche; two sons: Thomas (Dawn) Rich, Jr., of Navarre, Florida, and Richard (Jill) Rich of Moline, Illinois; one granddaughter: Samantha (Ken) Crooke; and two great-grandchildren, two step-sons: John (LuAnn) Larson of Clinton, and William Parker of Lakewood, Colorado; four step-daughters: Ginger (Stuart) Garringer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jill Larson of Aplington, Iowa, Camilla (Dennis) Kepler of Bennett, Colorado, and Martha (Richard Jacobs) Dettermann of Clinton; and one sister: Caroline (Dave) Clizbe of Clinton.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his previous wife: Mary; a step-daughter: Nancy, one sister: Virginia; and three brothers: Hamp, Maurice, Jr., and Bryan.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Special Olympics or a charity of your choice.
