LEO B. BURTON
Leo B. Burton, 63, C. & N. W. railway conductor, died at 5 o'clock this morning in Mercy hospital. He had been a patient there since Jan. 23 when he was injured in a fall.
Services have been set tentatively for Saturday afternoon in the Snell funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The body will be taken to the family home at 432 Ninth avenue, South tomorrow morning.
Burton was born Nov. 19, 1881, in Boone county, son of William and Sadie Burton. He was married to Ada Yencer, Aug. 11, 1910, in Columbus, Ohio. Before coming to Clinton 23 years ago the couple lived in Boone. For the past 40 years Burton was an employee of the C. & N. W. railway.
Active in Masonic circles he was a member of Western Star lodge 100, A. F. & A. M.; DeMolay consistory, A. A. S. R. Masons; Kasba temple, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Davenport; Keystone chapter, 32, R. A. M.; Magi shrine, 26, White Shrine of Jerusalem; and a past patron of Lyons chapter, 130, Order of the Easter Star. He was a member of the First Methodist church, the Order of Railroad Conductors, the Clinton War Dads and Sons of Union Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Cleo Dodge, and three grandchildren, all of Clinton, and four brothers, Eugene F. Burton, Ames; George Burton, Los Angeles; John Burton, Monterey, Calif., and Warren Burton, Minneapolis, Minn.
His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Leo B. Burton, who died Wednesday, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Methodist church. The Rev. Lloyd Gustafson officiated and there was ritualistic work by Delphie chapter, Knights Rose Croix, of DeMolay consistory, A. A. S. R. Masons.
Honorary pallbearers were R. H. Emmons, Jake Berkley, C. A. Beamer, John Chatterton, C. G. McAllister, W. A. McPherson, Jake Lee and O. A. Stensland.
Active pallbearers were William Quinn, M. L. Faverty, Rodney Olney, Peter Dall, Carl Scott, Charles Taylor, A. E. Bender and G. T. Anderson. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Out of town relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Burton, Ames; Mrs. Charles Yencer, Lancaster, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Grover Garrett, Gays, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ward Bridges, Windsor, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nitz, Mr. and Mrs. Art Cain and Mrs. Lois Hammon, Wisconsin.
