Lawrence "Larry" Fox,Davenport,died Wednesday,Sept.19,2012,at Genesis East Medical Center,Davenport. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M.,Wed.Sept.26,at St. Paul's United Church of Christ,Wheatland,Iowa,with Reverend John Cofield officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Tuesday,Sept.25 at Chapman Funeral Home,Wheatland.
Larry was born,July 20,1949,in Davenport,to Warren and Bonnie (Emerson) Fox. He was united in marriage to Sharon Nicholson on May 7,1977,at St. Paul's United Church of Christ,Wheatland. Lawrence was a 1967 graduate of Wheatland High School. He served his country in the Navy. For 35 years he worked for Command Business Systems and the last six years drove bus for the Davenport City transit. He was a member of Wheatland American Legion and the Eagles. For over 30 years he belonged to a pool league in the Calamus and Wheatland area. Lawrence's greatest love was spending time with his family,especially his grandchildren.
Survivors;include his wife Sharon;son Chad Lawrence Fox and his wife Nichole of Davenport;daughter,Stephanie Rose Groharing and her husband Todd of Davenport;grandchildren,Marissa,Christopher,Lawrence and Shawna Fox;Zachary and Alexis Groharing;his mother Bonnie Fox of Wheatland;sister,Jan Hamdorf of Wheatland;brother,Wesley and Nancy Fox of Lowden,Iowa;also surviving are many nieces,nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.
