The Clinton Morning Age Saturday April 9, 1898 p 3 Henry Tensfield, an old settler of Clinton county, died at his home in Camanche at 3:20 Friday morning. He was born in Germany, May 9, 1830, coming to America in 1851 and to Clinton county 40 years ago, having made his home in the county during that period. He married Miss Sophia Hiede, September 20, 1856, and the union was blessed with six children, all of whom are living. The are: William of DeWitt; John and Frank of Oklahoma; Louis of Lake City, Ia.; Mrs. Mary Namanny of Crawford county; and Mrs. Emma Oelrich of near Camanche. Mr. Tensfield was widely known throughout the county and many will mourn his sad demise. The funeral will be held frm the home in Camanche, Sunday afternoon at 2.
