Ronald E. Shaw, 67, of Clinton, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at his home. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be noon Saturday until the service hour.

Ronald Ernest Shaw was born June 27, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Lorraine and Phalby (Hall) Shaw.

Ronald was employed as a brakeman for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for more than 18 years, retiring in the early 90's.

Ronald had a Bachelor's of Arts and a Master's Degree from Northern Illinois University. He had just recently completed his Doctorate Degree in American History at Northern Illinois. He enjoyed spending time with his family and distinguished friends and colleagues of Northern Illinois University.

He is survived by his daughter: Pamela (Chandler) Shaw-Buffin of Concord, California; grandson: Chandler Buffin, Jr.; two sisters: Barbara (Rhone) Terrell of Richton Park, Illinois and Dianne Brown of Chicago, Illinois; brother: William (Toni) Shaw of Chicago, Illinois; his long time companion Janice Whitaker of Clinton and loving family members including children and grandchildren; Pam's mother, Madeline Shaw of Chicago and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Shaw, and one nephew.
