Lillian Marie McKinney, 96, of Clinton passed away peacefully on Friday, March 2nd, at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Cremation rights have been accorded with a memorial service taking place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lillian was born August 3rd, 1915, in Vining, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Hrabak) Kouba. Lillian was a 1933 graduate of Toledo High School in Toledo, Iowa. On October 9th, 1938 she married George McKinney in Vining, Iowa.
Lillian worked as a bookkeeper for the Chevy garage in Preston, Iowa.
Lillian was a member of Mercy Auxiliary for 25 years, the Preston Women's Club, the Preston Legion Auxiliary and a devout and faithful member of the Preston Methodist Church and also upon moving to Clinton a devout and faithful member of the Evangelical Free Church. Lillian had a passion for volunteering some of which included working with the visually impaired and leading or participating with numerous Bible studies at her church.
Lillian is survived by: One son- Marc (Beth)McKinney of Longmont, Colorado; one daughter in-law Son Ok of Woodstock Illinois, 4 grandchildren - Matthew (Colleen), Brooke, Karen, Kelly (Randy); 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband George; one son-Larry; one sister-Dorothy; one brother-Alvin.
