Norman W. Roling, 64, of Goose Lake died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at his home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte, with Father Gary Beckman as celebrant.
Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Charlotte.
Visitation was 2-9 p.m. Friday, June 13 at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston.
Norm Roling was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Spragueville to Gregory H. and Dorothy A. Yeager Roling. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Bellevue.
He married Ruth D. Flogel Oct. 3, 1959, in Dubuque.
Norm worked as a heavy equipment operator for 28 years for the Clinton County Highway Department. Years ago he also farmed near Bellevue.
He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte; a past Goose Lake City Council member; and a life member of the Goose Lake Coffee Club. Norm took pride in his yard and enjoyed woodworking and mechanical work.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Randy of Miles, and Greg, Mike and Pat "Normie", all of DeWitt; daughters, Barbara Schroeder of Eldridge and Cheryl Oake of DeWitt; 17 grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas of Bellevue.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
A memorial fund has been established.
