Deceased Name: Eugene Luckritz

Eugene Carl Luckritz, 85, of Crofton, died of natural causes Dec. 20 at Greater Southeast Community Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Luckritz was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Clinton, Iowa, where he attended Clinton High School. During World War II he was stationed as a staff sergeant under Gen. Douglas MacArthur in New Guinea.

The widower of Margaret Ellen Luckritz and the father of the late Eugene C. Luckritz, he is survived by a daughter, Debra K. Luckritz of Crofton; a sister, Judy Young of Colorado; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial is private. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sabula, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093-5142, or to the American Cancer Society, Mid-Atlantic Division, Inc. 1041 Route 3 North, Building A, Gambrills MD 21054.

Luckritz-Hughes and the late Eugene Carl Luckritz, Jr; brother of Judy Young; grandfather of Leslie Corinne Luckritz and Tara Leigh Hughes. Friends may call at THE GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the American Cancer Society.
