Clinton Herald October 28, 1959 p 11 Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Lawrenz, 89, of 511 6th Ave. N., will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran church. Rev. M.S. Bredow will officiate with burial in Springdale cemetery. Mrs. Lawrenz died Tuesday afternoon at her home after being in failing health for 6 months. The body will be taken to Zion Lutheran church at 2:45 p.m. Thursday. Firends may call tonight at Snell-Smith funeral home. Born on Jan. 15, 1870, in Germany, Emma Reske was the daughter of August and Hannah Sell Reske, coming to Clinton with her parents as a child. She was married to Ferdinand Lawrenz in 1895. She was a member of Zion Lutheran church and was also well known in DeMolay Consistory circles, having had charge of consistory dinners for over 30 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1916. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Ruth Lawrenz, at home; a son, Herbert, of Clinton; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Martha Lorenzen, Mrs. Fred Lucke and Mrs. Fritz Carstensen, all of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, a son, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
