Shirley (Mrs. Roland) Robinson, 78, DeWitt, died Thursday afternoon, April 14, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

Mrs. Robinson was born Shirley Elaine Dingman, January 6, 1933 in Longmont, Colorado, to Glen and Mabel (Reid) Dingman. She was was a 1950 graduate of Welton School. Shirley married Roland Robinson, December 9, 1950 in the United Methodist Church, DeWitt. She worked at the DeWitt Hospital as a Physical Therapy Assistant and later in the business office. Her husband preceded her in death April 22, 1990.

Shirley was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. She was an avid Cubs fan and loved watching tennis. Shirley also enjoyed family time, needle point working jigsaw puzzles and the companionship of her dog, Sophie.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Sally) Robinson, Davenport, Jeff Robinson, DeWitt, Lynne (Mike) Petersen, Minonk, Illinois, and Shelly (Todd) Seifert, DeWitt; grandchildren, Heather (Cory) Shook, Jessica (Jamie) Scott, Mathias (Ashley) Robinson, Jim Robinson, Brian (Beth) Petersen, Sonja (Gregg) Frei, Curt (Leslie) Petersen, Mitch Seifert and Alyssa Seifert; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aiden, Chloe, Kaitlyn, Kirstyn, Emma, Gwyneth and Lucia; sisters, Norma Dorrance, Hebron, Indiana, and Frankie (John) Kempter, Rock Island, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Connie Robinson, and a sister, Joyce McGill.

Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, in Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Charles Rafferty will officiate with burial at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
