Kenneth E. Nyquist, 92, of Clinton died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, March 4, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Marshall, Todd Marshall, Bob Seger, Harold Welcher, Keith Miller and Jack Simpkins
Ken was born on June 10, 1918 in Clinton, the son of Earl G. and Alma (Zerrien) Nyquist. He was a 1936 Clinton High School graduate. He married Eva M. Oliver on October 1, 1938 in Anamosa, IA.

He was a United States Army veteran.

Ken played baseball in a semi pro league. Because of his strong interest in baseball he enjoyed coaching little league and pony league. He bowled and played golf for many years. In later years he played pool at the Ericksen Community Center. He enjoyed playing the organ at home and loved watching different sports on TV. He was a member of the former Riverside Presbyterian Church and later First Presbyterian Church; he belonged to the Moose Lodge #363, where he and Eva danced the nights away.
Kenneth was employed as a carpenter at Clinton Corn/Standard Brands for 32 years. He also was employed at Curtis Woodworking for six years and Central Steel.

He is survived by his wife Eva of Clinton; one daughter: Marilyn (Tom) Marshall of Gunnison, CO; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Charles, and one sister, Viola Boardsen.
