Ethel R. Sansom, 72, of Clinton died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at her daughter’s home.

Private urn burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the spring. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Ethel Rosemond Gillim was born July 23, 1938 the daughter of Wilbur and Evah (Wood) Gillim.

She was a homemaker for most of her life; she also worked for Ralston Purina for eight years.

Ethel loved her time with her kids and her grandbabies. She also enjoyed fishing and playing bingo.

She is survived by 3 daugthers: Evah Comstock of Clinton; Brenda (Dave Kruecher) Griffin of Clinton; and Deborah (Bob) Haas of Thomson, Illinois; 1 son: Michael Sansom of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mary Mudge and Shirley (Chuck) McMasters; 3 brothers: Bill (Phillis) Gillim; Theodore Gillim; and Norman “Tinker” Gillim; and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, 1 son Sammy L. Sansom; and 1 brother Bob Gillim.

A memorial fund has been established in her name at Gateway State Bank to help the family with her final expenses.
