8/8/1942 - 1/28/2011Camanche - Carol M. Mess age 68 of Camanche died Friday, January 28, 2011 at her home. Private family services will be held. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Carol was born in Fergus Falls, MN on August 8, 1942, the daughter of Allen and Maye Marowitz Pamperine. She graduated from Clinton High School. Carol married Matt Krogman at St. John Lutheran Church in Clinton. She later married Gene Mess on April 13, 1974 in Clinton. Carol had been employed with the Curtis Company, Jim Walters Windows, Central Steel, Barrow’s Van Conversion and had managed the Indian Village Apartments for 20 years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and had served as vice-president of the Landlord’s Association. Carol’s greatest joy came in taking care of her family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Gene; a son, Terry Krogman of Camanche; two daughters, Carrie Krogman of Camanche and Cindy (Ken) Decker of Clinton; a grandson, Jason; a step-son, Richard (Kelly) Mess of Clinton; two step-grandchildren, Whitney and Katelyn; her mother, Maye Pamperine of Clinton and a sister, Debra (Tom) Widner of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorials may be made in her name to the Rock Island Humane Society. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
