Clinton, Iowa - Ione E. Rickoff age 90 of Clinton, died Tuesday Jan. 25, 2011 at Prairie Hills of Clinton. Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Saturday Jan 29th at the First United Presbyterian Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held Saturday 9:00 am until the service hour at the church. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Casket bearers will be Steve Rickoff, Bob Koons II, Bryant Koons, Caroline Koons, Richard Scott, and Wade Thompson. Ione Elmyra Wilson was born at Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton on Aug. 14, 1920, the daughter of Matthew and Frieda (Albrecht) Wilson. She attended the South Almont Country School and later graduating from Lyons High School in 1937. After high school she completed two years at Scovell Business College. Ione then worked for six years as a bookkeeper in the office of Clinton Corn. On Sept. 18, 1943, she married William “Bill” Rickoff at the post chapel in Fort Knox, KY. In 1945 they returned to Clinton and Ione worked in the Recorder’s office at the courthouse for 10 years. She then became a homemaker and the mother of two children, Jane Ann (deceased) and Steven Paul Rickoff.

Ione enjoyed traveling through the countries of the world with her husband, gardening, golfing, working on the family’s century farm, where she drove tractors and made pets of cats, dogs and lambs; and bridge, which she continued to play until recently. Ione was a past member of the P.E.O. Chapter F.I. and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She was also a charter member of the H.O.M. Club, which originated in 1934.

Ione is survived by her husband, William; a son, Steven; her son-in-law, Robert Koons II; and four grandchildren, Caroline, Bryant, Danielle, and Alexis, all of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Jane.
