Robert William Aiken
(May 21, 1941 - July 20, 2010)

Robert "Bob" William Aiken, 69, DeWitt, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 2010 in his home.

Bob was born May 21, 1941 in LeRoy New York, the second of four sons born to Merton and Cecilia (Hardigan) Aiken. He graduated from high school in 1959 and was a 1963 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. Bob worked in Ohio until moving to DeWitt in 1967 to become the general manager of Ennis, Inc. Bob was in charge of building the new Ennis, Inc. at its present location, first building Snap, and then the Tag and Continuous divisions. The last five years of his employment, Bob also oversaw plants in Reno, Nevada, Dallas, Texas, and Boulder, Colorado. He loved his job and people liked and respected him. Bob retired in April of 1991 at 49 years of age. He then did bookkeeping for a time at Springbrook Country Club, DeWitt, where he was a member.

He was united in marriage to Brenda Henning Mouchka on September 4, 1992. The couple enjoyed the numerous trips they took to Vegas, a cruise, and a trip to Cancun. Bob enjoyed reading, playing sheepshead, golfing and shooting pool. But mostly Bob enjoyed visiting with his friends at MJ's; Dave Bauer, Don Schafer, "Stickrod", Gary Hemesth and Jeff Burger, as well as all those who were so considerate of him these past few months.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda; his daughter, Bonnie (Bobby) Grigsby, Mocksville, North Carolina; his son, Steve, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; a step-daughter, Kami of Tennessee; grandchildren, Siena and Afton; step-grandchildren, Jessica and Audrianna and two step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry of Ohio, Doug (Vi) of New York and Jim (Deb) of Maryland.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents.

According to Bob's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Condolences may be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.

May the trumpets blare in Heaven welcoming Bob, a good and honest man. By now he'll be visiting with his good friend, Murray.

Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, caring for the arrangements.
