Robert A. “Bob” Ryner, 62, of Camanche died Saturday July 10, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Pallbearers will be Jeff Hansen, J.B. Straley, Mike Cozzolino, Jeff Simpson, Don McManus, and Mark Stuhlman.

Robert Allan Ryner was born on September 4, 1947 in Clinton, the son of Carl and Ethel Mae (Bliss) Ryner. He was a 1965 graduate of Camanche High School and a graduate of the University of Dubuque. He married Kathryn E. Hill on September 7, 1985 in Camanche; she died on March 1, 2010.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran.

He was employed as a Chemical Purchasing Agent with 3M for over 38 years until recently retiring.

Bob was a past Secretary Treasurer of the Camanche Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed boating and traveling, especially to St. Thomas.

He is survived by two sons: Jeff (Jennifer) Ryner of Littleton, CO and Luke “Whitey” Ryner of Fort Colins, CO; 2 grandchildren: Madeline and Tate Ryner of Littleton, CO; one brother: Carl J. (Elizabeth) Ryner II of St. Louis, MO; one sister: Susan (David) Guthrel of St. Louis, MO; a special sister and brother in law: Maureen and Jeff Hansen of Cedar Hill, TX, and special friends: J. B. (Kathy) Straley of Eldridge, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Bob was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
