Bernice L. Gustafson, 93, of Calamus died on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Westwing Place, DeWitt.
She was born January 20, 1917 in DeWitt, Iowa to Ferd and Ida (Galitz) Thomsen. On February 18, 1937, she was united in marriage to Rinehart (Swede) Gustafson in DeWitt. He died October 9, 1992.

Bernice owned and operated B's Gift Shop in Grand Mound and also assisted her husband at Grand Mound and Calamus Schools. She loved her family, friends and flowers. Her door was always open to everyone.

Surviving are her sons, Bill Gustafson, Calamus and Dick (Debbie) Gustafson, Tracy, Iowa; grandchildren, Lisa (Lonnie)Larson, Kirk Gustafson, Cassie Gustafson and Josh Mason, Jessie (Tim) Kauzlarich; great grandchildren, Elijah Gustafson, Omelia Terronez, Gabriel Lee Kauzlarich and Josie Lynn Kauzlarich; and sister-in-law, Marcella Gustafson, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:30 on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Pastor Elliot George will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus. Pallbearers will be Bill Looney, Gary Dickinson, Dirk Braet, Roger Rittmer, Harvey Gustafson and Rick Gustafson. Honorary pallbearers and bestfriends, Roma and Bill Thayer.

Visitation will be 11:00 until 1:15 on Thursday, July 8 at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.

A memorial has been established.
