Dorthea Mae Miller
(March 22, 1920 - May 21, 2010)

Dorthea Ruch Miller, 90 of Sachse, Texas, originally from DeWitt and Davenport, Iowa, passed away May 21, 2010 in Gunter, Texas.
A graveside committal service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt, Iowa.

Dorthea Mae Miller was born on March 22, 1920 in Carl, Iowa to Harrison Henry and Rosalee (Hardesty) Means. She worked in the insurance industry and sales for her working career. She married Rex Robert Ruch on April 14, 1940 in Bethany, Missouri. To that union four children were born. He died in 1969.

Among her favorite things were her garden and her roses.

Survivors include her husband, Melton Sumner of Sachse, Texas; two sons, Jack D. Ruch and wife, Margery of Bloomington, Illinois and Max G. Ruch and wife, Cherrie of Lansing, Iowa; two daughters, Lana D. Shaner and husband, James of Murchison, Texas and Tami R. Fischer and husband, Kenneth of Van Alstyne, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Tompkins of Maryville, Missouri and Violet Antisdel of Creston, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorthea was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Rex Robert Ruch and two grandsons, Cory Landon Ruch and Nathan Dean Ruch.

Local funeral arrangements have been made through Nelson Funeral Home in Dewitt, Iowa.
