Clinton, Iowa - Donald H. Dierks age 87 of Clinton, died Monday June 21, 2010 at Mercy North Medical Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 am at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday 4 - 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Donald was born on April 14, 1923 in Bryant, IA, the son of Ernest and Ella (Aude) Dierks. He served in US Marines in 1944. He married Marjorie Peters on Aug. 30, 1944 in Elvira, IA. Donald worked as a mechanic at Stampe Shell Service in Clinton for over 38 years. He later worked for Heritage Motors (McEleney Motors) for many years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Clinton; a son, Alan (Sharon) Dierks of Camanche; two granddaughters, Brenda (Kent) Schreiber of Miles and Beth Dierks of Fulton, IL; two great grandchildren, Karissa and Vincent; and a sister, Arline Petersen of Dewitt. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held Thursday 4 - 7 pm at the funeral home.
