Charles E. Rock, 65, Grand Mound, died Sunday afternoon, May 23, 2010 in his home.
Charlie was born November 9, 1944 in Clinton to Eldon and Signe (Fagerland) Rock. He graduated from Calamus High School in 1963 and attended Marshalltown Community College. Charlie was a member of the Iowa National Guard. He married Theresa Malik May 1, 1971 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Davenport. He worked at Alcoa, Frank Foundries in Moline and farmed at rural Grand Mound.

Charles’ children and grandchildren were the most important people in his life and he reveled in their accomplishments.

Surviving are his wife, Theresa; children, Jeremy (Lisa) Rock, Plymouth, Minnesota, Robert (Jennifer) Rock, Brooklyn, New York, Ryan (Andrea) Rock, Ames, and Alicia Rock, Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Brenna and Braeden; his mother, Signe Rock, Grand Mound, brothers, Winston (Donna) Rock, Low Moor, and Roger (Thea) Rock, Lakewood, Colorado.

Preceding Charles in death were his father and his sister, Sonja Mess.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound.
