Reva Ready

Reva I. Ready, 91, of Charlotte, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Genesis Hospital in Dewitt.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Danny Yaddof; Rich Reader; Derek and Corey Ready; Torey Miller; Travis Hosette; Jennifer Mrstik; Brittany Rathje; and Shelly Hoffman. The remaining grandchildren are serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.

Reva Irene Ready was born January 20, 1919 in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Lena (Lake) Clothier. She married Harold E. Ready Sr. on August 18, 1936 in Galena. He died July 10, 1987.

She raised ten children and worked at Community Care in Charlotte. She finally stopped working this past January at the age of 91 years old. She always said that those “old people” needed her.

Reva was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo, going to the casino, and loved watching and feeding the birds. She also loved her dog Mamas. Most of all Reva cherished her family and the time that she spent with them and all her special friends.

She is survived by three sons: Harold “Bub” (Sue) Ready, Jr.; Richard (Judy) Ready; and Mike (Terri) Ready all of Clinton; five daughters: Jeanne (Norman) Yaddof; Rose (Wayne) Eggers; and Patricia (Dennis) Miller all of Preston; Sandy (Dennis) Hosette of Desota, Missouri; and Cindy (Dale) Rathje of Charlotte; one son-in-law, Ron Appleman of Marshfield, Wisconsin; 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Reva was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two daughters: June Reader and Linda Appleman, one grandchild, and six brothers and sisters.
