Toronto, IA. Robert F. Maher entered eternal life on Tuesday August 7, 2007, his 53rd birthday and is celebrating with Jesus. He will be remembered for his strong devotion to God, Family and Friends. Robert was born on August 7, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa to Francis M. and Mary E. (Golden) Maher. Robert married Vicki Carr on May 25, 1973, at Cumming, Iowa.

Funeral services for Robert Maher will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 9:00 A.M. at the St. James Catholic Church in Toronto. Burial will be at St. James Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 9, 2007, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland, Iowa, with a scripture service at 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to his wife.

Robert worked in auto body repair and restoration of antique cars. He also had driven mail cross-country for 15 years.

Robert is survived by his wife Vicki; 5 daughters: Melissa (Darrell) Koch of Lost Nation, Rhonda (Dana) Cray of Toronto, Sarah (Rob) Edwards of Pleasant Hill, Mary (Zach) Timmerman of Vovato, California, and Libby Maher of Toronto; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jim (Donella) Maher of Norwalk, Frank (Nancy) Maher of West Des Moines; 3 sisters: Mary Ellen Maher of West Des Moines, Patricia Maher of West Des Moines and Barbara (John) Selby of Bettendorf.

Robert was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Dan.
