Phyllis (Mrs. Donald) Dumar, 78, Eldridge, died Thursday morning, April 8, 2010 at Trinity Bettendorf.
Mrs. Dumar was born Phyllis Elaine Helble, May 8, 1931 in Clinton, to Wesley and Doris (Cousins) Helble. She was a graduate of Clinton High and was a postal clerk at the McCausland Post Office for 26 years. Phyllis married Donald Dumar September 21, 1952 in McCausland. They farmed near McCausland for over 20 years until retirement. Don preceded Phyllis in death December 8, 1990.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at McCausland. Phyllis loved her grandchildren, flowers, gardening and the birds.

Surviving are her children, Joanne Dumar, Donahue, Patricia (Dave) Smith, Phoenix, Arizona, James (Mary) Dumar, Roscoe, Illinois, and Karen (Ben) Apple, Eldridge; grandchildren, Ali Dumar, Zach Dumar, Kyle Apple and Jason Apple; a sister, Shirley (Robert) Frauenholtz, West Liberty.

Preceding Phyllis in death in addition to her husband were her parents.

Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in McCausland Cemetery.
