James R. Klahn

Wheatland, IA. James R. Klahn, 60, of Wheatland, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Dewitt Community Hospital after a heart attack. James was born on November 15, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa, to Melvin and Hazel (Endorf) Klahn. He married Sandra Tank on July 26, 1969, in Lowden, Iowa.

Jim was a farmer, an avid horseman, and loved his cattle and farming. Above all else, he loved his children. Jim was a member of the Christian Free Lutheran Church in Wheatland and the Silver Spur Saddle Club.

Funeral services for Jim Klahn will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 10:30am at the Christian Free Lutheran Church in Wheatland with Pastor Scott Grey officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2008, at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland.

Jim is survived by his wife Sandra; daughters Christina Schreiber of Lowden and Emmalee (Brett) Larkey of Oxford Junction; son Micah of Wheatland; two step-grandchildren Austin and Tanner Larkey; sisters Bethel (George) Russ of Wheatland and Nancy (Verle) Kleppe of Bennett; brother Alden (Marilyn) of Lowden; and a special mentor Ervin Juehring of Wheatland.

Jim was proceeded in death by his parents and a grandson Malachi Schreiber.
