Clinton, Iowa - Esther C. Graves age 91 of Clinton, died Tuesday April 20, 2010 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Monday April 26th at the Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be held Sunday 3 – 7 pm at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Andy Graves, Corey Chase, Jeffrey Graves, Tim Graves, Jared Foster, Justin Flynn, John Jessen, and Bryan Nicol.

Esther was born on June 16, 1918 in Clinton, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Gunther) Krogman. She married Charles W. Graves on Sept. 7, 1938 in Clinton, he died in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and the Ladies Auxiliary. Esther enjoyed gardening and was a seamstress.

Esther is survived by her eight children, Joan (Jerry) Wiebers of Camanche, Bill (Nancy) Graves of Camanche, Joe (Linda) Graves of Clinton, Ann Nielsen of Clinton, Betty (Larry) Foster of Camanche, Judy (Vernon) Flynn of South Milwaukee, WI, Michael (Becky) Graves of Clinton, and Patrick (Lynette) Graves of Clinton; 32 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three children, Janet, Terry, and Jerry, two brothers, and four sisters. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
