Herald Staff WriterMount Carroll, Ill. — Leland G. Schmaling, 84, of Mount Carroll, died Monday at Freeport Health Network Hospital, Freeport, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Mount Carroll, with the Rev. Mark Harkness officiating. Burial will take place in the Upper York Cemetery, Argo Fay, Ill. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church.
