Alice Knudson

Alice C. Knudson, 86, of Clinton, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at her home. Services will be 10:30am Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Chancy Lutheran Church, Clinton. Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Andersen, Dennis Heath, Ron Rockwell, Ron Andresen, Loren Knudson and Nolan Knudson.

Alice was born May 6, 1923 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Andrew Iverson and D. Catherine (Bertramsen) Rosenberg. She was a 1941 Clinton High School graduate. Alice married Paul G. Knudson January 27, 1946 in Clinton, Iowa; he died June 2, 2006.

She was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church; she was a former member of New Hope Lutheran Church and St. Stephen?s Lutheran Church where she was the financial secretary for more than 17 years. Alice was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for more than 60 years; she was secretary and treasurer for the 39th Combat Engineers from WWII for more than 20 years; she was active for many years in the Longfellow PTA and was member of the Cardettes card club for more than 60 years.

Survivors include her sons, Larry (Patrice) Knudson of Clinton; David (Sharon) Knudson of DeWitt; and Randy Knudson of Austin, TX; eight grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her sister, Anette Montgomery of Winnetka, CA; her sister-in-law, Alice Rosenberg of Gardnerville, NV; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Chancy Lutheran Church or the American Red Cross.
