Goose Lake, Iowa - Bernice A. Unruh age 93 of Goose Lake, Iowa died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday April 21st at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Goose Lake. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, April 20th at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton and Wednesday 9:30 am until the service hour at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton. Casket bearers will be Ryan (Marci) Unruh, Sheila (Dan) Bormann, Lance and Shelby Bormann, C.J. Unruh, and Drake Hoyer.

Bernice was born on April 8, 1917 in Lyons, IA, the daughter of Clem and Louise (Droste) Holdgrafer. She married Carl Unruh on Sept. 22, 1937 in Clinton, he died in 1982.
She was a devoted homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and Senior Citizens Card Club of Goose Lake. She enjoyed quilting, where she made several quilts for members of her family. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and doilies, playing cards and cribbage.

Bernice is survived by her two sons, Robert (Sandra) Unruh of Charlotte and Gary Unruh of Camanche; four grandchildren, Ryan, Sheila, Clayton, and Deanne; five great grandchildren, Lance, Shelby, Drake, Austin, and Alyssa; a brother, Raymond (Kathy) Holdgrafer of Gig Harbor, WA; two sisters, Ann Berding and Gert Fogg both of Clinton; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Holdgrafer of Marion, IA.
