Associated PressCLINTON — Jacqueline “Jackie” Loretta Housenga, 83, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Alverno.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Pool will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Jacqueline was born June 25, 1926, in Clinton, Iowa, to Raymond and Mildred (Bradshaw) Krebs. She worked as an RN at Jane Lamb Hospital and also the Alverno Nursing Home. She married Garrett Housenga December 24, 1947, in Clinton, Iowa.
Jacqueline was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed long walks, had a wonderful sense of humor, kind works for everyone, loved to travel, wintered in Los Cruces, New Mexico, and loved her church.
She is survived by two sons, Garrett “Randy” (Phyllis) Housenga, Clinton, and Jan (Patti) Housenga, Camanche; two daughters, Cindy (Jack) Beuthine, Phoenix, AZ, Lisa (Jeff) Wischmeier, Clinton; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Johnny Hale of Clinton; and one brother, Steve Housenga of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great-grandson, one sister and one brother.
