CLINTON — Ruth N. Lueders, age 85, of Clinton, died Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24th, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow with the scattering of ashes to take place in Puerto Vallarta. Ruth was born in Clinton on November 17, 1924. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1942. Ruth married Russell Lueders on August 2, 1968, in Clinton; he died in 1982. Ruth worked at Fidelity Life in Fulton for over 20 years. She later was employed at Agri King in Fulton from 1972-1992, at the Port Hole on Main Avenue and Hawkeye Disposal. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed bowling, tennis and loved animals. Ruth was devoted to feeding the birds, stray cats, raccoons and opossums in her neighborhood. Ruth is survived by four children, Julie (Don) Ward of Fulton, Cheri (Gary) Martindale of Clinton, Mike (Donna) Lueders of Clinton and Laurie (Kevin) Stangl of Cloquet, MN; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Delores Bock of Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Coral on February 16, 2010; a great-granddaughter; and two brothers.
