SHERWOOD, Ark. — John Michaelsen, 64, Sherwood, Arkansas, died Sunday evening, October 11, 2009, at his son's home in Muscatine.John was born January 13, 1945, in Clinton, to Frank and Myrtle (Bolte) Michaelsen. He graduated from Clinton High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. John married Cynthia Shaw February 14, 1970, in Clinton. He worked for the Chicago Northwestern and the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years.He loved his trains and enjoyed model railroading. John also loved his rose garden.Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Cynthia; children, Charlotte Hinds, Yorktown, Illinois, Brian Michaelsen and his wife, Kim, Muscatine and Craig Michaelsen and his wife, Cheryl, DeWitt; grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Hinds, Hannah and Lauren Michaelsen and Marlee Michaelsen; a sister, Janet Rowe, Little Rock, Arkansas.Preceding John in death were his parents; and brothers, Merlin, Ronnie, Butch and David.The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October, 14, 2009.Condolences may be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.Death date: Oct. 11, 2009
