MORRISON, Ill. — Kenneth Bush, 90, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, IL.Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Philip Stel, pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL, with military funeral honors.Memorials may be made to the Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, IL, and the American Diabetes Association. He was born January 23, 1919, in Morrison, IL, to Clarence and Henrietta (Bolt) Bush. Ken was educated in the Morrison and Lyndon area grade schools. He married Eloise Shipma on October 10, 1941, in Fulton, IL; she survives. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European theater from October 1943 through October 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Ken was first employed by the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Company, Sterling, IL. Following his military service, he was employed by Groharing Construction Company, Morrison, IL, and then worked as a self-employed mason contractor. Most recently he was employed by J.A Bull and Sons, Morrison, IL, for 22 years retiring in 1982. Ken was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL, and the church's Men's Group and delivered sermon tapes to shut-ins. He was a member of the Morrison American Legion Post #328 and the American Diabetes Association. His hobbies included walking, gardening, fishing, woodworking and refinishing. He was an avid dog lover. Survivors include his wife, Eloise; one daughter, Bonnie Bush and John Peart of Chicago, IL; one brother, Eugene (Wilma) Bush of Morrison, IL; and one sister-in-law, Pearl Shipma of Fulton, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Bush and Lawrence in infancy.To send online condolences go to www.bosmarenkes.com.Death date: Oct. 3, 2009#
